After more than 40 years in the field of leadership development and a full career dedicated to servant leadership, education, and organizational growth, I’ve officially stepped into retirement… well, mostly.

This space is a quiet continuation of my life’s work. While I’m no longer actively consulting (except for one cherished client), I’ve created this simplified website to serve as a place of reflection, legacy, and connection.

Here, you’ll find:

Links to the books I’ve co-authored over the years

A few blog reflections I may post from time to time

Access to the legacy archive of my original website, which housed decades of materials, videos, construction projects, and programs, including my beloved late business partner, Dr. Ann McGee-Cooper Legacy Library

And perhaps most meaningfully, a curated glimpse into the values, people, and ideas that have shaped my journey, including trusted colleagues I highly recommend for servant leadership training and development

Whether you’ve known me from a workshop, a book, a conference stage, or a shared project somewhere along the road, thank you. I’m grateful for the community, the conversations, and the collective pursuit of doing meaningful work, in service to others.

As I step into this season of reflection and rhythm, I hold close the words of Parker Palmer:

“In the autumn of life, I don’t chase much anymore. I watch, I wonder, I give what I can. That seems to be enough.”

That’s the spirit of this space.
You’re welcome to explore. And if you’re just here out of curiosity—well, that works too.

Warmly,
Duane Trammell

Hi, I am Duane, a lifelong educator, consultant, and advocate of servant leadership.

For over four decades, I worked with organizations, schools, and nonprofits to help grow leadership from the inside out. I co-authored five books, partnered with some extraordinary people, and built a consulting business that spanned 40 years. Along the way, I found deep meaning in teaching, mentoring, and creating spaces where others could discover their own purpose and voice.

Now retired (except for one longtime client I just couldn’t let go of), I spend more time writing, reflecting, and enjoying life with my husband, Steven, in downtown Dallas.

This site is simply a way to share a few things I’ve learned, loved, lived, and to honor the people and values that shaped the journey.

Trusted Colleagues

While I’ve stepped back from full-time consulting, I still receive occasional inquiries from people looking for thoughtful facilitators, coaches, or presenters, especially in the field of servant leadership.

This page highlights a few colleagues I’ve worked with over the years and hold in the highest regard. Each brings their own strengths, perspectives, and heart to the work of developing leaders, building culture, and guiding meaningful conversations.

Feel free to explore their work and reach out to them directly.
And if you’re not sure where to start, I’m always happy to help make a connection.

Luis Fernando

Luis and I have worked side by side for over 15 years—and I still consider him one of my most trusted collaborators. We continue to partner together with my one legacy client, where his presence brings both excellence and steadiness to everything we do.

Matthew David Kosec

I first met Matt through my late business partner, Ann McGee-Cooper, and I’m so glad our paths crossed. Since then, we’ve become learning partners, sharing ideas, laughter, and the occasional lunch.

Mike Blevins

What I value most about Mike is his curiosity and commitment to what’s next. Even in retirement, we continue to collaborate, explore new ideas, and imagine the next generation of leadership development together.

Carol Haddock

Carol came into my life more than 25 years ago, and from the very beginning she has been a steady, trusted presence. Over the years, she worked alongside me in many different capacities at both AMCA and TMCA, always bringing care, precision, and deep loyalty to everything she touched.

Christa Williams

When people ask me where to turn for the best in servant leadership curriculum and facilitation, I send them straight to Christa. Her depth, warmth, and wisdom show up not only in what she teaches, but how she lives.

“Moments” Blog

Sustaining Servant Leadership

Now and then, I feel the nudge to put pen to paper—or fingers to keyboard. This space gathers reflections that surface in retirement: stories of leadership, legacy, community, and the ordinary rhythms of daily life. Life is made of moments — fleeting yet powerful — and in them we glimpse how servant leadership breathes life into our days and sustains us for the long journey. My hope is that these shared moments spark your own path of leading with awareness and service at the center.

Over the years, I had the opportunity to co-author several books-most centered around servant leadership, team learning, and helping people grow in meaningful ways. Each one reflects a season of my
journey and the wisdom of those I was lucky enough to partner with.

lf you’re curious, you can find them here, with links to learn more, download for free, or purchase a copy of those still in print.

No pressure. Just glad you’re here.
